handsome and beautiful

I love this picture of Carson.  He just looks so adorable and precious.  I am not sure why he smiles with only half his mouth, but it makes his extra special.  He is going to be a heart breaker in about 12 years, watch out ladies!

His brother is a cutie as well.  I can't believe I was able to get his hair to lay down nice.  He is a sweet little boy, no longer a baby!

Madison really does love her brother, even if he doesn't always let her show him.  He isn't real affectionate, but at times he shows his soft side.  They mean so much to me, absolutely precious.

I love this picture of all of us, but all the kids look so sad.  I love how they are all hugging each other.  That doesn't happen too often.

After Daddy passed away we had to take a drive in his mustang.  We went to Woodward Park to take a couple of pictures and to watch the ducks in the lake.  It was a great day.  We miss his so much and enjoy taking the mustang out for drives just to be reminded of him.  He is missed so much and we wish he was here.  I don't think I will be able to get rid of the mustang.  It was the car he would pick me up in for dates, It was his pride and joy.  He had great dreams for the car.  He wanted to make it a hot rod.  We didn't have the money to fulfill all his dreams in that car.  When Carson is sixteen he will drive it proudly.

Kindergarten

It really can not be, our daughter started Kindergarten this year.  She has been waiting for this day for a long time now.  She was so excited to have her backpack.  We took her to breakfast before school since she doesn't start school until 11:30.  She didn't seem nervous.  She just got in line and away she went.  As she was walking into her classroom a tear ran down Scott's cheek.  He asked me why I wasn't crying, I knew she was ready and was overly excited.  I wasn't saddened that she was growing up.  She is doing well and loves her teacher.  I am so proud of the progress she has made.

Daddy and Jack.  He would do anything for his kids, even ride a little baby ride.

I love this picture, he truly looks happy

The Sly 5 pack, missing Jackson

The two girls had so much fun together, they got along great and acted like best friends.

Driving like a real engineer, hanging out the window.

The tiger show was awesome.

We loved watching the dolphins play and swim

We were so lucky to get to spend a weekend with the Slys.  We went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.  We had never been there and really enjoyed it.  The kids all got along well and had a blast together.  We definately will have to go back, next time remember the sweatshirts Mommy.  It was a bit cool in the morning.

Morro Bay

Sly kids in a hole

Lily was getting frustrated, every time she would dig a hole, Jack Jack would get all comfy and sit in it.  It was too cute

Family time

We decided to make another trip to Morro Bay the weekend before school started.  We decided we needed one more day of fun before the real fun began with school.  The night before we left Scott decided that he didn't want to come with me.  He was upset with me because I needed him to help me clean the house, and he had other plans.  He was upset so let him stay home.  I promised the kids fun in the sand and that is just want we did.  We packed up and went to the cold, windy beach.  Melanie brought Lily and Joel, the others were busy.  It turned out just a girls trip, then at about 1:00 we notice some familiar faces walking across the sand.  It was Scott and his parents.  They decided to come up and join us.  When I asked Scott if he was still upset with me he said he couldn't stay upset.  I am so glad he got to come and spend time with his kids.  Three days after this trip he was diagnosed with Leukemia.  He wasn't feeling well on the trip but had fun regardless.  I am so glad we got to get away before school started and we learned of his diagnosis.  We were always so spontaneous, and I know I will continue to be.

Daddy and his girl

We went to Morro bay in the beginning of August.  We really wanted to take the kids on the semi summersible boat ride around the bay so we could show them the fish and get to ride on a real boat.  We bought tickets for Mommy, Madison, and Carson.  We agreed that Jackson was too grumpy.  He was teething and super cranky this weekend.  When it came time to get on the boat Carson decided he was not getting on the boat.  Make that two grumpy kids.  Scott was going to stay with the boys but at the last minute I decided I would stay and let him spend time with his little girl, just the two of them.  He was able to show her all the different kinds of fish, they saw some sea lions, but mostly just got to spend time together.  I am so grateful that I let him go.  He was able to spend some very precious time with his princess, something she hasn't forgotten.  I was able to take the boys for a walk while they were out on their excursion, we found a really good bakery.  Mommy got to enjoy a chocolate chip cookie and a diet coke while Daddy and Maddy made some memories together.
