She got her first real haircut

Bye Bye long hair

Madison had her haircut tonight and was very good about the whole thing. I told her that when it got hot and became swimming season we were going to get her hair cut. Well tonight after dinner we went over and had about 5 inches chopped off. She looks older to me. Hard to believe that we never cut her hair until she was 3 years old, my baby is all grown up. Hopefully we will be able to keep more food and candy out of her hair. I will post some more pics soon of her hair "done".

Memorial Day Fun

He just loves to push the stroller. We really should try to find him a more "manly" one.

Our little mermaid!

Well we decided to have our family over for kebobs and fun in the water. We filled up the pool, bought squirt guns and water balloons and just had fun. Carson was excited about the water until he was in it. It is just way too much fun to push our baby stroller than to play in the water. That is his new obsession of the week. Sorry Madison that you haven't been able to play with it. If you even try to take it away, watch out!! Well we had a fun day and the kids all had fun.

Water

So happy with the watering can, just don't take it away or you will hear it.

Madison and Carson just love playing in the water. Tonight we were at my aunt and uncle's house and decided to let them get all wet in their clothes and play in the sprinklers. Carson's fuse was short and didn't last too long so we ended the night early and went home to bed. They had fun. I love watching them play together. Madison is so patient with her little brother when he throws a fit because he wants something she just gives it up and finds something else to play with. She is a sweetie and a good sister.

Go Grizzlies

What is a baseball game without a rootbeer and a hotdog?

We decided to take Carson to the Grizzlies baseball game last night and we had fun him. Madison got to go to Auntie's to play and spend the night so we thought we would do something fun with our buddy. The weather was warm, but we survived. Carson kept himself busy walking up and down the stairs, playing with his squirt bottle and drinking his water and "coke". We lasted until almost 9:30 then called it a night and came home to go to bed.

Dinkey Creek

The girls snuck away and went on a walk. Madison was happy that we let her buy a ice cream. She enjoyed eating her ice cream and relaxing.

Splashing in the rocks.

The girls, note to self... stop eating chocolate. Going to definately hit Weight Watchers after our little one joins us.

Sandy and Madison

We decided to get out of the 106 degree Fresno heat and head up to Dinkey Creek. We had a barbeque, played by the water, hiked around and tried to relax. The best part was it was only 78 degrees. What a change. We even saw snow on our way up there. There wasn't much but enough to notice. So happy to get out of the heat and enjoy some family time together. I think the kids had the most fun playing by the water and throwing rocks in the water.

Madison and Emma made up a dance and Madison wanted to perform for me. She was so adorable twirling her ribbon and dancing. She needed a little help from Emma on what to do next but was adorable and Can't wait to put her in a dance class, maybe next year.

A fun day at the park

She doesn't look like she is having fun, but was laughing and smiling the whole time.

Was happy only when he had his water. This boy overheats very easily and is always sweaty.

We went to Oso De Oro Park on Saturday with Mema and had a wonderful time, even if we were burning up due to the heat. We went on the swings, played in the water (Yes Fresnans, there is water kids can play in at the park), ate lunch and fed the ducks. The kids were wonderful as always (or most of the time) and had a fun time. Thank You mema for spending the afternoon with us.

Summer is here

Last night we had our first outdoors movie night and everything went well. We had sister in law's family over for dinner and a movie. Feels like summer sitting outside watching a movie. Carson was too cute he stuffed himself full of m&m's and popcorn. Madison was more interested in playing inside, but we had fun. Gotta love having a movie projector to watch on the garage.

What I love about my kids...

Well it is officially Mother's Day but I am up late and thought I would take some time while it is quiet to write down what I love about each of my little sweeties.

Madison
  • She is always making me laugh, always has something funny to say.
  • She is so girly, loves makeup, nail polish, and talking on cell phones (Thanks Auntie Kristi because I am so not into makeup)
  • She is so loving to her brother
  • She is artistic, loves to paint, draw or create anything
  • She is my helper, she always wants to be helping Mommy
  • She can play independently (wish she slept independently better)
  • She talks all the time, I have a buddy to talk to.

Carson

  • He is such a boy, loves trains and airplanes
  • He is becoming a talker and makes me laugh
  • He loves to sleep and goes to bed without a fight (Glad to have one that is easy at bedtime)
  • He is very independent
  • He loves to bring Mommy books to read
  • He will watch TV contently while I cook dinner!
  • He will eat almost anything

I look forward to how our life will be changing very soon. I can't wait to meet little Jackson and see how the kids react to him. I am sure it will be a sweet day when they are all happy to be around each other.

Mother's Day

Mothers Day is such a wonderful time to spend with family. I am so grateful to have a loving aunt who raised me just like one of her own children, I hold a special place in my heart for her. I have a loving and caring mother-in-law who is just wonderful and such a great person. I have two beautiful children and another coming in a couple of months. Part of me is sad because I always think of my own mom around Mother's Day. She has been gone now for almost 25 years but that doesn't make it any easier to go on without my real mother. My children have been missing out on not having another grandma to love them. I know that my mother watches over us but it is still sad knowing that we will have to wait to see her again someday. I was listening to the radio the other day and heard a song that reminded me of my mom. Here are the lyrics:

Sissy song by Alan Jackson

Why did she have to go?
So young I just don't know why
things happen half the time
without reason without rhyme
lovely sweet young woman
daughter wife and mother
makes on sense to me
I just have to believe

She flew up to heaven on the wings of angels
by the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
and she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
and I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry about me.

Loved ones she left behind
just trying to survive
and understand the why
feeling so lost inside
anger shot straight at God
Then asking for his love
empty with disbelief
just hoping that maybe

She flew up to heaven on the wings of angels
by the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
and she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
and I know she's smiling saying
don't worry about me.

It's hard to say goodbye
her picture in my mind
will always be of times I cherish
and I won't cry cause

She flew up to heaven on the wings of angels
by the coulds and stars and passed where no one sees
and she walk with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
and I know she's smiling saying
don't worry about me.
don't worry about me.

11 more weeks

Carson three months

Madison newborn

Madison three months

Carson newborn (what happened to his black hair? I wonder if it will come back when he gets older?)

I still can't believe we will be adding another sweet baby to our family in 11 weeks or less. Time goes by so fast and I know these last 11 weeks will go by so quickly. We have nothing ready yet and honestly I am starting to stress a little. I know 11 weeks is a long time, guess it is time to start thinking about what we will need for our little Jackson. I posted pics of Madi and Carson when they were babies so I can try to remember what they looked like. Carson has changed so much, Madison not as much! I can only guess what this one will look like. I hope we didn't use up all of our cute genes with these two cuties. I have been going down memory lane and looking at all of my digital photos on the computer. How time flies?

obsessed

I think my son is officially obsessed with trains. He loves to play with the wooden track sets and just can't get enough of them. I will post some pics as soon as I can, but just wanted to spread the word that I think there must be something in our families blood. All the boys love trains. Joel (now 8) was obsessed as well and Grant (now 4) still loves trains. It will be interesting to see if our new little one will love them as much as Carson. I had to peel him away from his trains this morning to eat breakfast, and lets just say he was not happy. He loves to assessble the tracks and push the trains around himself. He is getting so big so quick. We love our little choo choo man. I love to listen to him while he is hard at work playing saying "choo choo", "all aboard" and "t t t t " trying to make the train sound. Too cute!
